A global platform made to help those in need.

James Augustin and Aydin Hepsaysir, both 22, are third year students that have combined forces to create an organization aimed at helping those in need during the coronavirus pandemic.

While studying at University of Manchester, James had to create a business plan, but little did he know that this plan could end up helping thousands of people in isolation.

“We’re working really closely with the team from MutualAid.”

CoronaUnity is a multifaceted platform consisting of the ‘Helpers Hub’ & the ‘Corona Community’.  Partnering with Mutualaid.world, the platform aims to simplify and centralize all things COVID-19 related, providing direct relief for those in need throughout the coming months.

“We’re working really closely with the team from MutualAid, trying to see how quickly and effectively we can pump out every service needed during the pandemic.” James explains. “Creating a hub of charities willing to help those in isolation is our first priority.”

“The organisation also intends to release their ‘Phone-A-Friend’ service this week.”

CoronaUnity has teamed up with a selection of charities to provide the public with a ‘Helpers Hub’, designed to help tackle the growing list of problems caused by Coronavirus. The Charities include Dash, a domestic abuse charity and  Re-engage, a charity dedicated to combating isolation and loneliness within the elderly population.

The organisation also intends to release their ‘Phone-A-Friend’ service this week. A telephone service that will connect people experiencing loneliness due to isolation with volunteers who are available for a friendly chat.

“It’s a community led project that has real scope to help everyone in the world.”

“The response has been amazing, so many people are willing to help.” James says. “From students to professionals, everyone wants to give their time and expertise.”

With a team of around 50 developers, James and Aydin hope to create a fully fledged resilience project – a platform that can provide any type of service needed throughout this and any future pandemics. “It’s a community led project that has real scope to help everyone in the world.”
